Last year going to see Lily Allen on tour I had the pleasure of seeing Natalie Portman's Shaved Head perform. At first I had to remember who Natalie Portman was and how this was going to be relevant to the bands image. Found out the name of the band is a reference to Natalie Portman's physical appearance in V for Vendetta. The band was amazing and when they sang Sophisticated Sideways Ponytail I was blown away. Natalie Portman is on the guest list of every gig they have but has not shown up. Shame on you Miss Portman. The band will re-release their first album 'Glistening Pleasure' on Warner Brothers Records at the beginning of 2010. They have already digitally released their EP "Meet Hot Singles" with newer, improved versions of some songs off of Glistening Pleasure. Here is Sophisticated Sideways Ponytail. Unfortunately the live part is only in my head and I haven't figured out how to put that online ...one day one day.

Last month we informed you of the new Robyn single and since then hype is really starting to build. Amazing to think who Robyn was to us in the 90's and how influential she has now become to getting electronic music mainstream. Makes me think anythings possible. Who knows maybe Right Said Fred will make a reappearance...in which case we won't be blogging about it.

Here's the facts:

1)2010 will see Robyn release not one, not two, but three albums.
2)Body Talk PT 1, will be released on June 14th with the single Dancing On My Own released the same day.
3)Diplo, Royksopp, Kleerup, and Klas Ahlund have worked on these projects.
4)Robyn said that "the songs that are on the first album are simply the first ones that were finished.
5)The prevalent theme on the album is "technology versus humanity"

The single "I Am Not A Robot" by Marina & The Diamonds is sweeping the web in remixes and videos. The latest video is one shot on the streets of L.A. and is said to be used for her tour. Remember The Love Boat, shag carpeting, The Four Seasons, kaftans, and Sea Monkeys? Ya, neither do I but thankfully the 70's are back. Slowly Disco music is creeping back into the mainstream and after a recession its much needed. Bring on the excess!
